Sam's Coffee Roasters is a family-owned wholesale coffee supplier serving the San Francisco Bay Area. It was founded in 1995 by Van Ho and remains family-run. We roast small-batch organic and regular beans for restaurants, cafes, pho kitchens, and offices. Need commercial espresso equipment? We're based in the Bay Area and deliver wholesale coffee across San Francisco, Oakland, Berkeley, Concord, Pittsburg, Walnut Creek, Hayward, San Jose, the Peninsula, and Marin. Van handles most Bay Area deliveries himself. We ship nationwide.
There's no single posted minimum. We work with small cafes ordering 10–20 lbs a week and with restaurant groups running hundreds of pounds weekly. Call Van and we'll size the order to your service.
Pricing depends on the bean, the roast, and the volume. Rather than list prices that go stale, we quote per customer — call Van at (415) 658-1864 or send a wholesale inquiry and you'll get a real number back the same day.
Easier than most operators expect. Call Van, we'll send a sample bag, dial in a blend that matches or improves your current cup, and set a delivery cadence that doesn't interrupt service. No long-term contracts — the work is the proof.
Yes. We roast certified-organic single origins and an organic house blend for restaurants and cafes that need organic on the menu. We sell both organic and regular — not just one or the other.
Yes. Vietnamese coffee is our heritage. Van is Vietnamese-American and has been roasting for Bay Area pho restaurants, Vietnamese cafes, and banh mi shops since 1995. We carry Vietnamese cafe blends, straight robusta, and custom phin grinds.
Yes — we sell everything. House espresso and custom espresso blends, drip and batch-brew house blends, single-origin rotations, certified-organic options, decaf, and custom roasts for specific bars. If you're curious about a bean we don't list, call Van and he'll roast it.
Whole bean, espresso, drip, French press, and phin-grind for Vietnamese service. We bag to order, so the grind you want is the grind you get.
Yes. Dial-in is part of onboarding — we taste with you, adjust roast and blend, and lock in what pours best on your equipment with your baristas. Most of our long-running accounts run a blend Van tuned for them.
Not in-house — but we have a trusted Bay Area equipment partner we send our customers to. They source, install, and service commercial espresso machines, grinders, and brewers. You make one call to Van; we loop them in. Beans from us, machine from them — same standards on both sides.
Often, yes — Van is in the Bay Area most days. If you're out of beans mid-service, call. We'll figure it out. This is why operators buy from a local family-run roaster instead of waiting on a shipper.
Yes. Bulk bags for office coffee programs, standing weekly or biweekly delivery, same quality as the restaurant pours. Call Van to set volume and cadence.
Small-batch roasted on schedule. Most customers get beans within a few days of roast. We don't warehouse — we roast to your order.
